Volvo Construction Equipment recently announced a new range of excavators in Europe pushing the boundaries in productivity, fuel efficiency and total cost of ownership.
Many new features have been added on the new models but they mostly revolve around improving the operator’s experience, increasing their safety and the safety of those around them, improving the serviceability, precision and productivity while reducing the fuel consumption.
Major developments
Better precision and productivity
The new excavators are made to help customers with more precision and speed than ever before. The new features include:
- new electro-hydraulic system with enhanced main control valve (MCV) monitoring the operator’s movements
- adjusted fan speed, minimizing unnecessary energy consumption
- automation of boom and bucket movements, reducing operator’s fatigue
- engine speed reduced to as low as 1600rpm thanks to engine-pump optimization
- fuel efficiency improvements (up to 15% more efficient).
Superior serviceability
The newest equipment has several design features to make maintenance quick and easy, such as:
- an easier access to the grouped filters via the machine platform
- more synchronized service intervals (between engine oil, hydraulic oil and fuel filter changes) will increase uptime and reduce costs
- easier inspection of radiator and oil cooler.
Higher cab comfort
The new cab is ergonomically designed, quiet and more spacious. It benefits from:
- more storage space for a cool box or shoes
- new seat with various adjustment options including heating and ventilation
- USB and Bluetooth connections for charging mobile phones, playing music and facilitating on-site communication
- reduced noise levels
- built-in sunscreen
- improved HVAC & better sealing to reduce dust and ambient temperature
- improved human machine interface (HMI)
- key less engine start and much more
